Global Gap & Grasp audit

At daffodil cropping time in January this audit makes sure that we are doing everything that we say we are. It’s about the welfare of our team and the good practice of our agency. The auditor will check everything from working conditions to correct staff payments.

Leaf Sustainability

An online self- audit that looks at how we farm and how that impacts the community, environment and wildlife around us. We love our wildlife and are very proud of our woods and hedges and ponds.

Salsa (Safe and Local Supplier Approval)

Concentrating on all washing and packing of vegetables making sure we meet best practice and produce safe and legal food.

Leaf Marque (Linking Environment and Farming)

A farm assurance system showing that food has been grown sustainably with care for the environment.

TN (Tesco Nurture)

This certifies us as a supplier and producer of products that come from environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and sustainable cultivation.

Red Tractor

This is for all our produce and combinable crops. Red Tractor standards cover, food safety, traceability, environmental protection agrochemical usage and records and much more. This is so important for us and means that both ourselves and retailers can use the Red Tractor logo on packaging.

Select Farm Produce

This covers the welfare of the farm employees and any agency staff

Other audits completed as required include the Waitrose Risk Assessment, an ethical audit Smeta, Sedex, an international employment standards audit as well as customer supplier packs. We’re always on hand to answer any and all questions and queries.

“Over my farming career there has been a revolution in food quality assessment and traceability. I am pleased to say that British Horticulture has led the way. Thanks to the protocols and standards we apply, British food and especially produce is demonstrably amongst the safest in the world. I hope it can continue to be so in the world trading environment we will soon find ourselves in.”
